Drummondville at a Glance
Located east of Montreal
on the St-Francois River, Drummondville, Quebec
was established in 1815 to protect the shorelines from an American attack during
the war of 1812, and also as a base for British soldiers. Due to its history
and location, the small city offers a number of outdoor and historic activities,
as well as a variety of interesting cultural venues and events. Explore the
Village
Quebecois d'Antan, a heritage town where costumed staff, restored buildings
and antiques are used to demonstrate how regional communities matured throughout
the 19th century, and celebrate local theatre, dance and art each summer at
the Mondial
des Cultures de Drummondville festival. Learn about the history of photography
as an artistic medium at the Popular
Photography Museum, which displays antique cameras and photo exhibits, and
visit the Union
