    Rocher Perce in Winter
    The Rocher Perce (Pierced Rock) is shown in winter. The rock, believed to be 375 million years old, contains numerous fossils. At one time there were two holes in the rock, but one of them collapsed in 1845, leaving the gap seen to the right of the hole in this view.

    Rocher Perce
    The Rocher Perce (Pierced Rock) is pictured on a clear summer day. The rock, estimated to weigh 5 million tonnes, stands 88 m (290 ft) tall and is 438 m (1,437 ft) long.
