This national park encompasses 802 sq km (310 sq mi) of alpine landscape including the Jacques-Cartier, Richardson, Logan and Albert mountains which feature some of the highest peaks in the province. The park's purpose is to preserve aspects of the region including the Gaspesie caribou herd, various forest ecosystems, arctic-alpine flora and a number of endangered plant species.
